Meet Scar: The Coffee-loving Rescue Dog Who's Brewing up Happiness!
Did I ever think that would be me? Running a coffee business. No, not ever!
But, here I am doing it! I guess anything is possible in a dog's life. We all know the saying "You can't teach an old dog new tricks". Well, at my age, 9 years old, I guess you can teach an old dog new tricks. Well, maybe a few tricks!
It's Scar here the Belgian Malinois, with my pack Beans and Joe, and of course my human. I was rescued from a shelter, by a loving human. She saved my life.
I noticed, that every morning after waking up, she would put water and these ground-up, bean-looking things into a small machine on the counter. It would start steaming, and the next thing I know, you could smell this rich aroma filling the room. It makes my human very happy! She must like the smell too. As the days went by, I realized she not only liked the smell but enjoyed drinking the brown water it made. I started to enjoy, watching my human. I decided to start helping her in a little ways, like fetching the beans and pawing at the grinder switch. I've since learned it's called coffee. She goes nuts over it. Kinda like me when we go for walks.
Eventually, my human decided to teach me about roasting and brewing the brown water, I mean coffee. Together, my human and I started experimenting with different blends and perfecting our roasting techniques. Before long we had created a bunch of different and yummy coffee flavors.
One evening, while I was rolling around on the floor trying my best to get her to throw my ball, I got this idea. If everyone was like my best friend and liked coffee, we should find a way to package it and sell it. Then, we could give some of the money to the nice people who ran the shelter where I came from. You see, even though it was sometimes hard to hear them talking at the shelter because so many of my friends were noisy barking and howling, I still heard them, always talking about how expensive it was for us to live there and that there was never enough money to pay for our meals, our shots, (which, between you and I, I would rather pass on). I figured, Hey, nice people like you, could buy our paw-some coffee, that you will love and enjoy, and with each bag of coffee you buy, it will help feed, care for, or rescue a furry friend in desperate need.
My human loved the idea and we immediately went to work making it happen. We realized right off, how much work it was and decided we needed more help. So, we rescued Beans and Joe, two of my very best friends, and asked them to join the pack and help us on this business journey. And that's how Caffeine and Canines got started.
Since we were all rescued from the shelter, we were adamant about donating a portion of all our sales back to help fund other animals in need. There are so many of us out there. It's a huge problem. We were one of the lucky ones. We are happy to give back and help as many of our lost and scared friends trying to find a loving home. Our pack may be small now, but we are mighty! And, we are dedicated to giving back to packs all around the country. We hope our kind gesture will warm your heart as much as it does ours. Through hard work, dedication, and love, we can make a difference in this world for all our friends. So, we're going to keep on roasting and brewing up all the happiness for you humans that we can.
